Safety Timer

About Safety Timer

Safety Timer is not an emergency service.

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services (such as 999, 112, or 911).

What Safety Timer does

Safety Timer lets you set a countdown timer before a solo activity. If you don't mark yourself as safe before the timer runs out, the people you've chosen are notified automatically via email.

You can also manually trigger an alert at any point if you need help.

What Safety Timer does not do

  • It does not track your location.
  • It does not confirm you are in danger — only that your timer expired or that you triggered an alert.
  • It does not contact emergency services on your behalf.
  • It does not guarantee delivery of emails.
  • It is not a substitute for emergency services or professional safety equipment.

Who should use it

Safety Timer is designed for situations where you want someone to know you're okay — without having to exchange lots of messages. Solo hikes, late-night walks, solo travel, or meetings with strangers are common uses.

Privacy

No account is required. Your data is not sold. Contacts are only emailed if your timer expires or you manually trigger an alert — they receive no other communications.

If you are in a dangerous situation right now, please call your local emergency services. Safety Timer is a supplementary safety tool, not a primary emergency response system.
